Inspection, Test And Routine Servicing

Paths of Travel shall be inspected in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment 2000 Division 7 for Miscellaneous Fire Safety Offences, inclusive of Clauses;

  • 183 - Fire safety notice

  • 184 - Fire exits

  • 185 - Door relating to fire exits

  • 186 - Path of travel to fire exits

In addition to Division 7, Paths of Travel may also be nominated as a Fire Safety Measure on the Fire Safety Schedule where it generally refers to the EP&A Regulations Clauses and also BCA Provisions under Section D for Access & Egress including the following parts & Specifications;

  • Part D1 Provision for Escape

  • Part D2 Construction of Exits

  • Part D3 Access for people with disabilities

  • Specification D1.12 - Non-Required Stairways, Ramps and Escalators

Maintenance Standard

  • An inspection against Division 7 conform with Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000

Inspection Intervals

As per 176 (1) the assessment of these measure should be within the period of 3 months prior to the date on which the annual statement is issued.
