Inspection, Test and Routine Servicing

The basis of inspection, test and routine servicing of smoke alarms and heat alarms is to ensure that all are operating and functioning correctly to the Standards.

All smoke and heat alarms shall be inspected and tested on a 6 monthly basis.

NB: Where smoke alarms and heat alarms are connected to a fire detection system, the procedures for the smoke and heat alarms shall be done on monthly routine.

Inspection Intervals

All routine inspected and tested shall be in accordance with AS1851 & EP&A regulations.

Note:

  1. Where smoke alarms and heat alarms are connected to a fire detection system, the procedures for the smoke and heat alarms shall be done on monthly routine.

  2. The six monthly may be carried out by the occupant or owner and not be recorded.
