Automatic Operation - The following provisions shall be made for a fire-resistant roller shutter to automatically close in the event of fire. The operating mechanism shall -

(a) incorporate a fail-safe fusible link in accordance with Clause 5.6 that is legibly marked with a temperature rating not greater than 80°C (57°C in the case of a drenched shutter);

NB: Fire-resistant roller shutters may be set up to operate when activated by a smoke detector, heat detector or fire alarm. Nevertheless, a fusible link should be used in all fire-resistant roller shutters. Actuation by smoke, heat detector or fire alarm are secondary options only.
