Simple preparation for the Bushfire season is of vital importance if you live in as area which may be susceptible.

Please carefully consider these points:

 

  • Choose plants that are fire resistant and non-invasive.
  • Maintain all plants by regularly removing dead branches, leaves and needles.
  • Keep the lawn area around your home well maintained
  • Don’t dump your lawn and brush clippings in bushland.
  • Do not stack old building materials or rubbish near or under your house.
  • If you have a wood heater, store your firewood away from the house and other structures.
  • Keep outdoor chairs, umbrellas and other flammable furniture a safe distance from structures.
  • Remove dead or overhanging branches from your trees.
  • Remove any branches within approximately3 metres of your chimney or flue.
  • Clean all dead leaves from roofs and gutters regularly.
  • Clear all vegetation and other flammable materials from beneath deck areas.
